Uncle Toyin, It’s like a bad dream that I desperately want to be woken up from. I wonder if it was genuine peace or denial I had that you would recover all. But I later realized that your peaceful demeanour and laughter in the midst of turbulence took over the atmosphere and the Prince of peace prevailed. God is sovereign and that, I know very well. Uncle Toyin exuded humility and personified excellence. Never allowed anyone to be ignorant unless they chose to be - ‘let me explain …. to you’ is a popular phrase I knew him with. An outstanding teacher, be it politics, be it life, engineering or the Bible, just to name a few. Undeniably, you left us with a legacy of peace in the midst of chaos, generosity, exceptional humility, fairness and great faith that stands the test of time. I will be careful to put all the lessons learnt from you into practice. Although it’s very hard, but we refuse to sorrow like those without hope. While looking to meet again in eternity, we will remember to learn patience and hold on to the God of all comfort. I’m so honoured to know an exceptional individual like you. Good night Uncle Toyin.

A gentleman to the core. Unassumingly respectful and very friendly in disposition. He fondly called me "GuruJ" (J standing for Jesus), as he beamed with his handsome smile. We will take solace in that he has gone to be with the Fairest of ten thousands (Jesus). May the Lord comfort all the loved ones that he left behind.

Toyin is a disciplined engineer and administrator, highly principled and very difficult to be swayed from his belief. He is a hard worker and a believer of victory at the end. It was a rude shock to us at Shell Nigeria Gas that Toyin would leave the Mother Earth as early as this but God owns us all and knows when we shall transform. May the good Lord console all of us and grant his family fortitude.

Toyen……aka double MD as I began to call you in recent times, my best friend, my confidant, my risk manager, thank you for being such a great friend, a dependable ally and model of a friend. We’ve come a long way, from our childhood days on campus in Great Ife, through Youth Service in Warri, 1986/87, we lived under the same roof, we shared deep thoughts together about our future and God hearkened to our heart desires, Though I served in Shell Warri while you served in NNPC Warri, You eventually joined Shell Port Harcourt first in 1988 barely a year later God brought us together again as I also got recruited into Shell Port Harcourt. Although Shell provided me accommodation yet, I spent most of my time in your house, not just your house, your room. I met my wife while in your house, you were the Grooms man at our wedding, you saw it from Day-1, till it became a reality. I can’t forget your encouraging words those days as we both faced challenges of capacity building and growth as facility engineers. You were always proud of me, assuring me that I was a future Chief Electrical engineer material when I myself couldn’t see it, a position I eventually attained and exceeded. You were motivational to those around you, nonetheless very cautious with both life and business risks. It’s the reason why I share my adventures with you for your threat detecting mind. Hmmmm….you will remain alive in my heart and your words in my head. You taught me to play Golf and you built network with Golfing, I couldn’t go that far, as I had to slowdown, when I began putting all night long for days in my living room and was losing sleep as I nearly became addicted. I recall your visit to the PHC engineering office, mid 2012, I was so proud to introduce my friend and colleague who had become the MD of Shell Nigeria Gas, you were a symbol of possibilities for one who is Christ Jesus. Not long after that, I was also progressed to lead Shell Nigeria, Real Estate as GM, finding myself with you again in Lagos. We both retired in 2019 you earlier in the year and myself in December, we thought it was time to rest until you were head hunted as GM and later MD of SAPETRO. It was well deserved. I was with you for renovation of your house after the fire incident, your engineering skills were still very sharp as we worked through the reconstruction process. In the family front our spouses are bosom friends too, our children are friends although they are spread across North America. What more can I ask from a friend, we spoke the eve of my daughter’s wedding which you were unavoidably absent. Never new that was your farewell conversation. There is not doubt that I’ve lost a precious friend, A great man is Gone, I’m grateful for your life which has been well spent. On behalf of the FALADES of Nigeria and Houston, Texas, we are going to miss you so much, WE LOVE YOU BUT GOD LOVES YOU MORE, SUN RE O….ORE MI ATATA. We are confident of where you will be, because you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Our prayer is that the Good Lord will preserve and comfort all you have left behind, immediate family, siblings, parents, in-laws and friends…….OJO A JINA SI RA O, L’ORUKO JESU.

Dear Uncle Toyin, it was such a rude shock to hear of your passing. I am still trying to process it all and it is difficult penning down my thoughts. You were an outstanding example of humility, simplicity, kindness and dedication. There was so much to glean from your calm demeanour, devotion to family, selfless service, wisdom and generous heart. You were a man of few words and so great an impact...what I would like to call 'noiseless impact'. You put your all into any course you believed in- service to God, family life, professional life, golf etc. I remain eternally grateful to you and my big sister, Sis Nike for the unconditional love, warmth and care I received in your home- always my home. I can't thank you enough. It really hurts to say farewell but we look to God who knows best and chose to call you home at this time.Thank you for leaving an unforgettable positive mark on the surface of the earth. May God comfort your dear wife- my big sis, Sis Nike, the children, family and friends like only He can. We miss you dearly. May your gentle soul rest in the bosom of our Lord.

Words fail me, my imaginations fail me also to apprehend that you are gone soon. However, you are departed to meet our Creator, a journey that is inevitable to us all. At this point, it is only well to say Adieu....May you rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord.

'Enn lee nibe un ....' Toyin, those were your words whenever I came knocking on your door in those days in Port Harcourt. You were such a sweet and lovely host, full of jokes that would make anyone around you grin. Now, scribbling stuff down about your demise is just a big struggle for me, my pen refused to flow, but the thought of your service to God Almighty and Mankind lifted my courage. I hadn't been this heartbroken in a long while, but we can't question God Almighty. You're an excellent, perfect example of a Gentleman who served God and affected many lives in different ways positively. No doubt, you will be greatly missed especiaĺly your Family, Friends, Relatives etc. May God Almighty grant Nike and your children the fortitude to bear this great loss. Good Night Toyin, and Rest on in the blossom of our Lord Jesus Christ, our savour. It is well. ADIEU

Our Dear Pastor Toyin Adenuga. Death ends a life not a relationship, so your memories we will always keep. A dedicated and committed man of God, a loving husband and a caring father. We should not fear death but fear a life unlived, you lived well and very impactful. Therefore a life that touches others, goes on forever. Good bye.

I cannot believe that I am writing a tribute to my name sake as I like to call him. I am still in shock and struggling to come to terms with this loss. I came to know Toyin when Nike & I became friends about 15 years ago. Toyin was a real gentleman, principled, hardworking, devoted to his family and church. He has left a huge void and I pray that God gives us all the fortitude to bear his loss. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

Toyin Adenuga, my erstwhile neighbour, a man I greatly admired, calm, no fuss, no frills, unapologetically himself. He was always welcoming and accommodating, especially as the children loved going over to play with Mosope. My son recalled that Toyin used to tell him so many helpful stories when our families sat together on school visiting days. My entire family benefitted from his wise council and we felt his impact. His passing came as a rude shock and we're still in disbelief. But we have no choice but to put our hope in God and pray that He would hold Nike, Moyo, Morayo, Morola and Mosope in His comforting embrace. Only He can fill the gap, and we trust that He is able. Adieu Toyin; you remain forever in our hearts.

I was shocked, sad and devastated on the sudden passing away of Engr. Toyin Adenuga, an affable gentleman, devoted and dotting family man. His support and generosity to Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria Lagos State Branch under my watch remain fresh on our memories. We are awe and undoubtedly consoled by his selfless services and exemplary legacy to humanity. I sincerely pray that Almighty God shall comfort and strengthen my Sister, his darling wife, Dr.(Mrs.) Adenike Adenuga, FPSN and the Entire family. May his noble soul rest in perfect peace in the hands of his Creator.
